Terri Lea Humphries

Memorial Services for Terri Lea Humphries, 60, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Chad Johnson officiating.

Terri was born on April 2, 1965 in Monroe, LA to Thomas and Bonnie Humphries. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2025. She was buried in her family plot in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. She grew up in Monroe, LA and graduated from Wossman High School and ULM. Terri worked at Dillard’s and later at the Clerk of Courts Office in Monroe. After suffering a stroke, which changed the course of her life, she worked at Transformation Thrift Store. She loved all the ladies and was so happy to “work” there with them. It gave her a sense of “belonging”. Some of her friends there were Debbie, Aimee, Meredith, and Tammy.

Terri was a faithful member of White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ and never missed a service before she suffered her second stroke. She was on a Women’s Retreat with Melissa when she suffered this stroke. She loved the Lord and enjoyed praising Him. She also enjoyed attending Celebrate Recovery on Friday nights.

Terri enjoyed walking and would walk for miles on the trails at Kiroli Park either alone or with friends.

She spent the last few years in the Ruston Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had many friends and caregivers. Thank you all for taking such good care of Terri. I want to especially thank Kristy Stringfellow for loving her, encouraging her, playing her favorite songs, and for dancing with her.

Terri is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Leroy Humphries and Bonnie Jean Lankford Humphries; and her little brother whom she adored, Thomas Leroy Humphries, Jr. (Buddy).

Left to cherish her memory is her son whom she loved with all her heart, Christian Alexander Durden; friends, Marianna & Manny Canales, Melissa & Matt Nichols and their son, Everett, Debbie & Chad Johnson, Aimee & Todd Aucoin, Mark & Judy Neeley, Vera Eady, Norma Evans, Meredith Mattison, and Kristy Stringfellow.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Transformations Thrift Store, 1200 Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA 71291 in Terri’s memory.
