Thurman B. Dickey, Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. Thurman Basil Dickey, Jr., 80, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Tim Hurd officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Monroe.

Mr. Dickey was born on September 27, 1944, in Memphis, TN and passed away in Monroe, LA, on July 28, 2025. He was a member of Jesus the Good Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, ACTS of NELA, and Louisiana Restaurant Association. Mr. Dickey owned and operated Thurman’s Food Factory for many years in Monroe and he was the voice on the radio every morning telling you what lunch was being served that day.

Mr. Dickey was preceded in death by his father, Thurman B. Dickey, Sr.; mother, Emaline Dickey; and grandchild, T. J. Dickey.

Survivors include four sons, Thurman B. “Thad” Dickey III and wife Tonya, David Patrick Dickey, Kenneth Michael Dickey and wife Veronica (Vee), and Charles Douglas Dickey; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Graham, Ryan, Emalie, Charlie, Clesi, Christian, and Nola Dickey; great grandson, David Ryan Dickey; brother, Richard Dickey and wife Pam; niece, Beth Ann Payne; and nephew, Richie Dickey.

Pallbearers will be Richie Dickey, Ryan Dickey, Graham Dickey, Charlie Dickey, Chistian Dickey, and John Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Boyte, Jody Lofton, and Larkin Mulhearn.
