Tommy Max Martin

With heavy hearts as a family, we announce the passing of Tommy Max Martin. Tommy M. Martin was a native of Gilbert, LA.  He passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. 

A celebration of Life will be held for Tommy M. Martin, 60 of Gilbert, LA at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 23, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Gilbert, LA with Bro. Bubba Ezell and Dr. Bobby Ensminger officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Interment will follow in Ogden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.

Tommy was born in Winnsboro, LA on July 16, 1962, to the union of T.J. and Maxine Martin of Gilbert, LA. He was preceded in death by parents T.J. and Maxine Martin, and brothers, Lt. Col. Kenneth Martin of Gilbert, and Dewayne Martin of Kelly, LA.

Tommy was a man that loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He would speak of his work in the oilfield on drilling rigs and his time working in the oilfield on the North Slope in Prudoe Bay, Alaska working alongside his older brother, Gary. He was a morning person and sitting outside drinking his coffee and spending time reminiscing with family and friends. 

Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Martin of Gilbert, LA; daughter, Rachel Martin and friend Ethan of West Monroe, LA; stepchildren, Dylan Williams, Jarod Williams and Shauna Varnell of Knoxville, TN; brother, Gary Martin and wife Kathy of Gilbert, LA; sister, Tammy Martin and friend David Stevenson of Calhoun, LA; sister-in-law, Lana Martin of Kelly, LA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Hudson, Ryan Ezell, Shawn Ezell, Kenny Martin, Tom Ramsey, Perry Brocato, Gerald Martin, and Jerry Bud Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Martin, Josh Martin, Alan Cain, David Stevenson, Garrett Fontenot, and Garrett Martin.
