It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mrs. Vera Mae Rachal Greer, age 94, of Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Greer departed this life on July 2, 2025, following a brief illness.
Born on October 7, 1930, in Montrose, Louisiana, Vera was the beloved daughter of Ernest and Sadie Mae Rachal. She enjoyed a fulfilling life, marked by her commitment to family and her artistic talents. A longtime resident of Fairbanks, Louisiana, she made a lasting contribution as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office for many years. Vera was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Monroe.
Vera was admired as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in cooking for her family. Her artistic inclinations manifested through her passion for sewing and needlepoint, creating items that were cherished by her loved ones.
Mrs. Greer is preceded in death by her husband, Houston Greer; her son, Mickey Wayne Greer; son-in-law, Mike Bollinger; and her sister, Mary Agnes Drake.
She is survived by her three daughters: Pamela Sue Greer Bollinger, Delores Jean Greer King (Robert), and Angela Gay Greer Harrell (Michael). Vera also leaves behind grandchildren Kris Greer Crabtree, Hannah Greer, Michael Greer, Leah King Parker, Leslie King, Kevin Bollinger, and Brian Bollinger, as well as 16 great-grandchildren who will honor her memory.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, located at 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, Louisiana 71203. A rosary ceremony led by family members will take place at 11:00 A.M. Private family interment at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery will follow, with The Rev. Joseph Martina, Jr. officiating the service.
Serving as pallbearers are Darrell Rachal, Troy Drake, Johnny Drake, Kevin Bollinger, Brian Bollinger, and Jase Dobson.
The profound impact Vera Mae Rachal Greer has made on her family and friends will be remembered fondly for generations to come.
