Vita Marie Williams, 91, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on January 15, 2026.
Vita was born on March 21, 1934, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Michael Jacola and Mica Jacola. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” to those who loved her most.
She is survived by her daughters, Toni Roth and Terri Tripi and husband Phil; her grandchildren, Shane Roth and Mica Williams; her great-grandchildren, Austin Roth, Caleb Roth, Carter Roth, and Cole Woodall; and her great-great-grandson, Waylon Roth. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Jacola; special friends, Alisha and Craig McLendon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Williams; her parents, Michael and Mica Jacola; her sister, Christine Roberts; and her brother, Joseph Jacola.
Vita truly enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved playing cards and dominoes and going on family vacations. Her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Vita never met a stranger and loved visiting with anyone she encountered.
She was a longtime member of the Columbus Social Club and the Altar Society at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Vita had a strong and unwavering Catholic faith.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with Very Rev. Peter Mangum officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home 2308 Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Francis Hospital, Elara Caring Hospice, Geaux Family Health, and a special thank you to Tammy Haynes and Rose Jacola for the compassionate care provided to their sweet mother, Vita.
