Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. William Jefferson “Jeff” Humble, Jr., 69, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Jeff was born on February 26, 1956, in Monroe, LA and passed away in West Monroe, LA on December 17, 2025. He graduated from Calhoun High School in 1974, and the attended Louisiana Tech University. Jeff worked thirty-seven years at the LSU Calhoun Experimental Station. He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing the woods and creeks of North Louisiana with his family and friends. Jeff had a special bond with animals, from his pet raccoon “Chatter” when he was a kid, to his dog friends later in life. He loved visiting with his granddaughters, Paisley and Saylor, it was the joy of his life.

Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Jane McClendon Humble; grandparents, Wade and Victoria McClendon and Jake and Sallie Humble; and his cousin, Beth Vardeman James.

Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Carol Shaw and husband, Colin of Sachse, TX; granddaughters, Paisly and Saylor Shaw; father, William Jefferson “Bill” Humble, Sr. of Calhoun, LA; brother, James “Jim” Humble and wife, Phyllis of Asheville, NC; his Humble cousins, Lyndon Poole, Dr. Carol Poole, Mary Ellen Poole, PhD., Linda Bush, Tommy Humble, Pat Bannister, Barry Humble, Dr. Lee Humble, Larry Humble, Laura Culpepper, Rob Vardeman, and Amy Lawler; McClendon cousins, Marsha Kothmann, Carole Zesch, Sheryl McGlathery, Lee Wade Bodenhamer, Vickie Baxter, Ann Hardwick, Frank Hardwick, Brian Hardwick, Bill Haile, and Ellen Breed.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Humble, Colin Shaw, Jim Humble, Bill Haile, Mike Breed, and Frank Hardwick.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
