Mr. Sims was born on February 4, 1944, in Monroe and passed away on January 10, 2026, in Monroe.
Mr. Sims graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1962. There he met the love of his life, Ann Eppinette, and were married for 63 years and together had 3 children. After high school, Winston joined the Air Force and served 4 years at Travis Air Force Base in California where they met many lifelong friends. They moved back to their hometown of Monroe where Winston briefly worked with United Gas and then went to work with South Central Bell/AT&T until he retired in 1999. Winston was an avid outdoorsman. His love of duck and deer hunting, fishing, and recently in his later years, golf, provided and continues to provide countless hours of entertainment for the stories he tells to his friends and family. Winston could always be seen at any of his grandkids activities. If Winston was not at a baseball field or a golf course, then he could be found at home watching GameChanger and a game on TV.
